At least they’re not lying by putting the word “safe” or “secure” in the title.
@npub1gv26...tlwl in you say "only works if you're on a paid plan." That's no longer the case. WFM on Chatgpt free.
> Presidents of both parties have muddied the water on unilateral presidential military action, but an attack on a sovereign nation with barely even a pretext of a lawful reason, no congressional involvement or even interest, and no UN involvement would be a new low for “checks and balances.” ---
This is a really awful situation for many authors. If you like an author whose books are available anywhere else, buy elsewhere. (There’s an argument in thread for buying through Boundless, but I think it throws good money at bad actors.)
This season of #andor sets aside childish things, and brings great writing, acting, and cinematography to #starwars in a way that the universe has always deserved and rarely gotten. If you're not watching it, this is some of the best TV I've ever seen. I enjoy a lot of Star Wars, and do so understanding that most of it is fun and somewhat lighthearted in a very dystopian world. Eric Geller has an amazing 11000 word analysis of this week's 3 episodes of #Andor.
This is literally the message of 30 years of reporting on wiretap laws by @npub1jslg...93xu @Steve Bellovin Susan Landau and many others: designing these systems is exceptionally hard. That’s part of why the systems to handle classified data are so expensive.
This May the Fourth, remember that rebellions are built on hope. image
The most important part of CVE is not the unique number, but the funding and expertise to run a credible program that assigns a unique number. The unique number was the center of what Dave Mann called a “concordance,” and I believe this is subtle but crucial: The value of CVE is not as a database, but as a stable way to cross-reference between databases and other tools. Dave and I have had many conversations about books having an ISBN, a UPC code, a Dewey number and a Library of Congress number. They serve different goals, and are managed by different groups. I mention the books because assigning unique numbers in a stable way is harder than you'd expect.
