Quiz time: On today's hike I came by this cortin steel pillar with a wheel on it. Can you guess what that wheel is for? image
It has been a very interesting week in the Mediterranean. 65,000 Gazans have been killed, and Israel has attacked volunteer ships from the Sumud Flotilla which is trying to get aid into Gaza. Monday, 500,000 Italians went on a strike organized by labor union USB, blocking trains and highways, demanding that Italy serveres relations with "the terrorist state of Israel". Wednesday, prime minister Georgia Meloni then declared, that Italy would change its course and recognize Palestine.
From Denmark I can report that we have had a surprisingly good, sunny autumn day, even though Trump said in the UN that our country would be "going to hell". Trump also said that the US was "hot", and that surprises me, because my hellhole country has an unemployment rate of 2.9, while the US is at 4.3 and rising. It is almost as if — and please hear me out here — Trump does not now what he is talking about.
The Trump administration fires 15 FBI agents for being photographed while kneeling for George Floyd to calm protesters instead of ending in a violent confrontation. I suppose calming protestors instead of shooting them does not follow the all important "warrior ethos". https://edition.cnn.com/2025/09/26/politics/fbi-agents-fired-blm-george-floyd-protests?cid=ios_app
First, Republicans start a trade war that destroys US export of farm products. Then they want government to finance the farms, like in the Soviet Union. Nuts! image
While Denmark is experiencing continued drone attacks against airports, Danish medium EB flies a helicopter south between the islands of Lolland and Langeland, and discovers the Russian Navy vessel Aleksandr Shabalin 110 covertly sailing the Danish seas with its AIS transponder turned off. This landing ship can carry 340 soldiers, 10 main battle tanks, and a crew of 98 sailors, and the speculation now is that the vessel could have had a coordinating role in the attacks. image
Powerful speech by Finnish president President of Finland, in which Russia's neighbour Finland now calls for the suspension of voting rights in the UN, of states that violate the UN charter. This could potentially become very dangerous for Putin in particular.
Awesome! The Danish citizen’s petition against EU’s chat message surveillance has reached the required 50,000 votes. By law, this means the citizen’s petition now forces a vote in the parliament of Denmark, no matter if the government wants it or not. This is important, because the governing Social Democrats are very much pro mass surveillance, but they may not have a parliament majority behind rejecting this — especially not this close to the local elections, Nov. 18. image
There is something beautiful about reading Trump characterize Jimmy Kimmel as an untallented fool with no audience, while Jimmy Kimmel is now at 16,456,944 views on YouTube alone — just 20 hours after publishing — while Trump's UN speech is at 169,000 views after two days. Jealousy is an incurable disease. image
Ooooh SNAP! 😄
