Iran’s population is 15 times larger than Denmark’s, and yet Iran has a GDP which is smaller. In spite of having an oil export twice the size of the UK’s, Iran is a poor country after 45 years of islamist rule. Iranians are fleeing Tehran because they do not even have bomb shelters in the capital. And yet, the religious leaders have been threatening both Israel and the US as if they were a match for their military power. Stupidity combined with arrogance truly is a dangerous cocktail.
