Picture 1-3: Countless news stories document dangerously close ties between Putin and the German AfD party. Picture 4: The Trump Administration is trying to create the impression that Germany monitoring this Trojan horse within their borders is "tyranny". It really makes you wonder, why the US keeps siding with the enemy.
When Reporters without Borders started measuring press freedom in 2002, the US was ranked 17th, which many thought was too low. Under Trump the US is ranked 57th, just above Gambia, and Trump has now signed an executive order to defund NPR and PBS.
TikTok is fined €530 million for illegally sending user data to China and failing to disclose its dubious practices to TikTok users. I simply love the EU. Ordnung muss sein! 🇪🇺♥️🇪🇺
Trump’s honeymoon period is over. Republican Senator Rand Paul rails against Trump and his abuse of power, and calls for Congress to rein in the President: “Tariffs don’t punish foreign governments, they punish American families […] raise the price of everything…” “We cannot afford to stand idly by […] the oath I took upon taking this office is to the constitution of the US and not one person.” Later, this first attempt failed with a 49-49 vote, but the game is on.
Ukraine and the US has signed a mineral deal. Trump got nothing: 1. The US does not get payment for weapons delivered before Trump took office. 2. Ukraine retains all ownership of mines. 3. Ukraine remains on the path to EU ascension. 4. A fund is created where the two parties have a 50/50 say. 5. Existing mining companies remain owned by Ukraine. 6. The US must give weapons to Ukraine to invest in the fund. 7. All proceeds from the fund must be reinvested. image
Is there an English term for a false and oversimplified political position, that politicians will take in order to make their argument incontestable? For instance, when EU politicians wanted to introduce scanning of online messages, they said they wanted to “prevent the sharing of child pornography” — and voila! — now everyone who was against their intrusive surveillance of communication were suddenly characterised as accepting child abuse. What do you call this rhetorical trick?
Breaking: US representative Shri Thanedar has filed articles of impeachment against Donald Trump for “tyrannical overreach” and more.
US toy company is being destroyed by Trump’s tariffs. Their shipments used to generate USD 15,000 in tariffs, but Trump has raised that amount to USD 1 million. All they can do is stop importing toys, but because they were unable to stop all shipments, they are still hit by the million dollar tariffs on toys they cannot sell at these astronomical prices. Welcome to the Trump economy — Christmas shopping will be so much fun this year. 🤦🏻‍♂️
My hero this week is Representative Zooey Zephyr of the Montana House of Representatives, who has had enough of weird laws from scared politicians that want to control all aspects of life, right down to the clothes we wear. Ms. Zephyr is a transgender person, so she knows what she is talking about. And with her speech, she kills the latest bill that would otherwise have limited people's freedom to dress as they please. More power to her. 💪🏼 #trans
Computer improvements in the eighties: We now have something called a hard drive, and with it you can store files without keeping an entire cabinet full of floppy disks. Computer improvements now: The plenty fast computer is now even faster, and we have a new color option: Pink. Plus you can finally have all the A.I. features you never asked for, and they work… sort of… well… most of the time!
