“No don’t help people who are suffering or they won’t suffer enough to overthrow the government/vote for the other party” is the kind of galactic bullshit that makes me block not just the account that posted it but also everyone who follows them. Demon logic. GTFO.
The House just passed the bill. Here’s our best sense of the situation based on available data. We’ll update next week with analysis of the version that gets signed into law.
I’m really grateful to the people who got some of the worst provisions removed and who fought to stop this terrible bill.

I haven't been able to stop thinking about how much it would mean to have even 25% of Dems in Congress (and state houses!) put together helplines and distributed volunteer clinics in neighborhoods, shelters, and community centers to help people navigate the paperwork burdens. Lives saved.
