I've always thought that leprechauns and all the silly shit surrounding St Patrick's Day seemed a bit ethnically prejudiced at worst and pejorative at best.
Since I havent done any #vexillology facts in a long time, here goes! The flag of Ireland: This flag was first presented as a gift to Thomas Meagher in 1848 from a group of French women sympathetic to Irish nationalism. It was intended to symbolize the Irish people as a whole, both Catholic and Protestant, with the green representing Catholics, the orange representing Protestants, and the white between them representing the peace that was (and still is) hoped for. It wasn't until the Easter Rising in 1916 that this banner was seen as the national flag of Ireland, and was "officially" recognized as the flag of the Irish Republic in 1919, the Irish Free State in 1922, and the Republic of Ireland in 1937. image #Ireland #Irish #flag

Supporting women-owned businesses doesn't mean patting big corporations on the back for symbolically promoting a woman to CEO or president in order to look good. It means actively choosing to buy from small businesses started, owned, and operated by women, rather than going with the easy-to-find corporate option.
