About:
Orphans of Uganda in Bugiri is more than an orphanage, it’s a family bringing lasting change through #Bitcoin. They aim to empower independence and break poverty cycles by building a Bitcoin-powered future for 77 children, giving them hope, dignity, and opportunity.
Objectives:
📌Use Bitcoin as a tool for education, empowerment and financial freedom.
📌Provide a safe, permanent home for 77 orphans in Bugiri.
📌Build with transparency and embrace community support.
📌Occupancy certificate issued and all children sleeping inside by 1 Feb 2026.
Some Key Achievements:
📌Built a Bitcoin circular economy in Bugiri, onboarding local merchants like firewood and fruit vendors for instant, fiat-free payments supporting the orphanage.
📌Paid school fees, supplies for 15 orphans, and teacher salaries at Starlight Elementary using Bitcoin, promoting financial literacy and transparent community voting on-chain.
📌Secured a major Bitcoin donation in 2025 which funded a permanent brick home for 77 orphans, creating local jobs, with ongoing crowdfunding for more donations to complete the project.
