What a productive week in Coin Land:
It all started because I kept seeing
@TFTC posting about solo mining and how people were hitting the lotto for the entire block reward.
Ordered a Bitaxe and starting hashing - based on the current network strength, the expected time to add a block by yourself with ~1TH/s is 11,416 years.
Messaged my OG coin friend about my lottery ticket and he sent me some more robust options he was looking at. I ordered a Canaan Q and joined my first mining pool
@OCEAN.
So far rev is 10,677 of the sweetest KYC-free sats these eyes have ever seen. Expected time until first payment, however, is 35 weeks and I simply can't stand for that. So what's to be done?
Ocean does LN payouts, but my little Umbrel node has been out of commission for years. I tried plugging it in yesterday and connecting but was getting a System Error and was unable to login. Dug through tons of forums and figured out how to flash it. And now she's back in business and running like a champ - 82% synchronized as we speak.
3 more Canaan Qs on the way for good measure. Oh, and now my nostr relay is up and running again via my RasPi4 Umbrel. I'll never forget the feeling of receiving my first zap direct to my locally hosted LN wallet / nostr setup. I couldn't stop laughing at the genius of it all. Somewhere along the way I lost that exuberance, but thankfully, it has found its way back.
In short, having fun playing with my Bitcoin.
