I get that Apple have issues, but they’re not a bad “Standard option” despite being pricey - low configuration, “just works”, works well with powerful hardware. Also they’re probably the only platform (and Apple themselves are a platform) that spans basically every way of computing. Not always the best, but there is always an ability to do it and generally quite well
