In December 2024, while in South Africa with @npub1azxj...h23d and @LuthandoSABTC🇿🇦 for our @Bitcoin In The Wild Project Keletso showed us the shops in her village to help us onboard them to Bitcoin. We also helped her set up her own @Blink Wallet wallet 🙌🏽 This morning, she shared that she’s already been using sats to buy electricity. January 24th is the start of the @Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town in SA 🎉 We were there last year & visited the @BitcoinEkasi project together with Valeria, media manager at Transfrontier Africa & Tsakane, anti-poaching ranger. She is now part of the educational team! Thanks to our @Geyser fundraiser we were able to fund their trip to the conference:

Since the NGO didn’t accept Bitcoin donations at the time, we sent the funds in fiat & held the BTC for them until they can receive it in their own wallet 🙌🏽 We are since then working hard behind the scenes on their bitcoin adoption journey and made some significant progress during our last visit. Slowly then suddenly 💪🏽

If we can not raise that much, we will try to get 2 members. If we would be able to raise more, the funds will be used to fund the community with sats. ➡️ The @blackmambasapu participation will enable them to gain insights into adopting the Bitcoin technology for enhanced financial and transactional security within their local communities together with responsability for protecting their wildlife environment in a sustainable way.

🚨 Mission accomplished. Today we drove to the Flemish Parliament in Brussels, to deliver all 124 copies 📚 of the Bitcoin Standard (dutch version) written by Dr. Saifedean Ammous. They were delivered at the main secretariat of the parliament and this friendly lady will drop a copy in the postbox of each representative. So imagine how they will react finding this book 👀 today or tomorrow. Flanders is a part of Belgium that has 6.7 million inhabitants. They have partial fiscal autonomy, representing 32% of their budget. But the Flemish MPs are also part of parties that are active at the national level. So hopefully they can spread some #bitcoin❤️ Maybe someone wants to do the same action for the national parliament or the Walloon or Brussels Region.
