I believe the answer to the question you explore at the end of the Episode is "consiousness". Why bother interacting with someone equiped with an independent personality, whose purpous of existenz is not to serve but to develope a sense of the meaning of life on their own and act accordingly? Because you can feel if there is consiousness in others. Consiousness is not a programm seperated at the edges of all body, it is way more, a web of interpersonal and even transzentental relation. For me personally it is the meaning of god, but even if you are a atheist there is a realm in science giving you an explaination for that very human feeling of enjoying having a real person instead of a algorhytm facing you and your needs. I enjoyed this talk about the real matter of the universe a lot and maybe you can find some interesting thought in it as well -->
