This ⬇️ position is incorrect in law. You can talk about whether or how you’d like to change copyright law, but “training for AI” is not fair use under current law, it’s the unauthorized use of someone else’s property for your own purposes, i.e. theft.
This ⬇️ “If training makes fair use of copyrighted works, however, then no permission is needed.” happens to ignore the corollary: “If using someone else’s property as raw materials without permission required, then copyright ceases to exist.” 1/2
