30 August 1942 | A transport of 608 Jews deported from the Westerbork transit camp in the occupied Netherlands arrived at Auschwitz After the selection all people were murdered in gas chambers. No one was registered in the camp.

30 August 1941 | A Belgian Jewish girl, Dora Poznanski, was born in Brussels. In 1943 she was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

30 August 1899 | A German Jewish woman, Bella Spanier, was born in Aschaffenburg. An actress. In May 1943 she was incarcerated in Theresienstadt ghetto from where on 12 October 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz. She did not survive.

30 August 1907 | A Pole, Tadeusz Opara, was born in Kielce. An accountant. In #Auschwitz from 8 December 1942. No. 81064 In 1943 he was transferred to KL Buchenwald. He survived.

30 August 1888 | German Jewish woman, Bertha Heidenheim-Berg, was born in Cologne. She emigrated to the Netherlands. In February 1944 she was deported from Westerbork to the Theresienstadt ghetto. On 18 May 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz. She did not survive.

30 August 1925 | A Czech Jewish woman, Soňa Hechtová, was born in Příbram. She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt ghetto on 6 September 1943. She did not survive.

29 August 1941 | An Italian Jewish girl, Gianna Di Segni, was born in Rome. In October 1943 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her parents Rita and Riccardo. None of them survived.

29 August 1919 | Polish man, Wacław Jan Zieliński, was born in Warsaw. During the war, he was a driver in the Home Army. He was arrested during the Warsaw Uprising and deported to Auschwitz. In the camp from 12 August 1944 No. 192526 In September 1944, he was transferred to Buchenwald, where he was liberated. He emigrated to England. He passed away in 2011.
