20 August 1902 | An Italian Jewish woman, Tina Gallico, was born in Mantua. In April 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz. She did not survive.

20 August 1939 | A French Jewish girl, Renee Kaufman, was born in Paris. In September 1942 she was deported to #Auschwitz from Drancy and murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

20 August 1911 | A German Jewish woman, Rita Klein, was born in Halle an der Saale. She was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt Ghetto on 16 October 1944. She did not survive.

20 August 1895 | A French Jew, Isaac Pinto, was born in Constantinople. He lived in Paris. In #Auschwitz from 7 June 1942. No. 38862 He perished in the camp on 12 July 1942.

19 August 1922 | A Czech Jew, Bedřich Schlosser, was born in Prague. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt Ghetto on 6 September 1943. He did not survive.

19 August 1891 | A Czech, Ladislav Kroutil, was born in Prasklice. A lawyer. In #Auschwitz from 31 January 1942. No. 26240 He perished in the camp on 13 March 1942.

19 August 1942 | A transport of 997 Jews deported from Drancy arrived at #Auschwitz. After the selection 897 of them were immediately murdered in gas chambers. One of them was Fanny Brauch from Paris. She was 15 years old.

19 August 1879 | Jewish man, David Goldberg, was born in Vilnius (then Russian Empire, today Lithuania). In 1908 he emigrated to Norway. He arrived at #Auschwitz on 1 December 1942 and was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

19 August 1917 | A Polish woman, Janina Nowak, was born in Błędów. In #Auschwitz from 12 June 1942. No. 7615 After 12 days she escaped. She was arrested in March 1943 & after two months imprisoned in the camp again . No. 31592. Transferred to Ravensbrück. She survived the war.
