12 August 1910 | German Jew Werner Melchiker was born in Berlin. Despite being a former French Foreign Legionary, he was deported from Vernet-en-Arriège via Drancy to #Auschwitz where he arrived in a transport of 1 013 Jews on 6 September 1942. He did not survive.

12 August 1944 | The first transport of Polish men, women, and children deported by the Germans during the Warsaw Uprising arrived at #Auschwitz from a transit camp in Pruszków: 1,984 men & 3,853 women. 12 August 1922 | A Polish Jew, Szlama Huberman, was born in Radom. A worker. In #Auschwitz from 1 October 1941. No. 21184 He perished in the camp on 6 November 1941.

12 August 1922 | A Pole, Eligiusz Bednawski, was born in Warsaw. In #Auschwitz from 25 February 1941. No. 10854 He perished in the camp on 15 July 1942.

12 August 1941 | A French Jewish girl, Annie Nakache, was born in Constantine (Algeria). She lived in Toulouse. A daughter of a swimmer Alfred Nakache. In January 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her parents. She was murdered in a gas chamber with her mother Paule.

12 August 1883 | A French Jew, Georges Halphen, was born in Paris. In October 1943 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

12 August 1886 | A Romanian Jewish woman, Leontina Löbel, was born in Galați. She lived in Prague. She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt Ghetto on 18 December 1943. She did not survive.

11 August 1942 | A Hungarian Jewish girl, Eszter Abraham, was born. In May 1944 she was a deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

11 August 1905 | A Pole, Ludwik Mroczek, was born in Kęty. A Catholic priest, a Salesian of Don Bosco (SDB). In #Auschwitz from 26 June 1941. No 17340 He perished in the camp on 5 January 1942.

11 August 1909 | A Czech Jewish woman, Anna Beerová, was born. An architect. She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt Ghetto on 16 October 1944. She left the camp in the Death March. She perished in Bergen-Belsen in April 1945.
