2 July 1915 | Antoni Czortek, a Polish boxer was born in Buśnia. He competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. In Auschwitz from 24 August 1943 No. 139599 He boxed in the camp. He survived the Death March to KL Mauthausen where he was liberated. Czortek passed away in 2004.

2 July 1892 | Jewish man Joseph Schechter, was born in Kropyvnytskyi (today Ukraine). A violinist. In Norway from 1919. First violinist of Bergen Symphony Orchestra. He arrived at #Auschwitz on 1 December 1942 and was registered in the camp. He perished there the next month.

2 July 1900 | Polish Jew, Alfred Gruen, was born in Warsaw. He emigrated to Italy. He was arrested in L'Aquila. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Fossoli camp on 5 April 1944. He did not survive.

2 July 1892 | A Polish woman, Rozalia Potoczek, was born in Wodna. In #Auschwitz from 18 December 1942. No. 27669 She perished in the camp on 16 March 1943.

2 July 1929 | A Czech Jewish girl, Hana Jungová, was born in Prague. She was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt Ghetto on 16 October 1944. She did not survive.

1 July 1899 | A Hungarian Jew, Desiderius Blau, was born. In 1944 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.
