29 June 1904 | Polish man, Zygmunt Porębski, was born in Warsaw. A car mechanic. He was a technician at the Tatra Auto company. During the war, he was arrested as a result of a denunciation that he was helping a Jewish coworker, Józef Frenkel. In #Auschwitz from 22 September 1940 No. 5433 In 1941, he was transferred to Sachsenhausen. He survived the war. He worked as a driver at Polish Radio. Zygmunt Porębski passed in 1983.
29 June 1943 | 40 Polish hostages from Warsaw were shot at the execution wall in the yard of Block 11 at Auschwitz I. This was intended as retaliation for the unbolting of railroad rails by members of the underground resistance organization in occupied Poland. 29 June 1944 | A 4-year old Hungarian Jewish boy Gábor Neumann and his mother Margit (who was 9-months pregnant at the time), were murdered in a gas chamber at #Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp. image
29 June 1937 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Betty van Aalst, was born in Amsterdam. In February 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her brother Simon (in the picture). They were murdered in a gas chamber after the selection. image

28 June 1912 | A Pole, Józef Pazdro, was born in Dębica. He was deported to #Auschwitz on 14 June 1940 from Tarnów in the first transport of Poles to the camp. No. 47 In 1944 he was transferred to Buchenwald. He survived. image
29 June 1919 | A Polish Jew, Isaak Bernaman, was born. In #Auschwitz form 6 June 1942. No. 37443 He perished in the camp on 26 July 1942. image
28 June 1908 | Slovak Jew, Evžen Fränkl, was born. He moved to Czechia and lived in Prague. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt ghetto on 26 October 1942. He did not survive. image
28 June 1940 | A German Sinti girl, Erika Laubinger, was born in Leipzig. In #Zigeunerlager (Gypsy camp) in #Auschwitz II-Birkenau from 5 March 1943. No. Z-119. She perished in the camp on 3 April 1943.
