12 June 1929 | A Polish Jewish girl, Rutka Laskier, was born. She lived in Będzin. Author of a diary published in 2006. Deported to #Auschwitz on 5 August 1943 with her mother Dwojra and a brother Joachim. Murdered in the camp immediately after selection or in December 1943.

12 June 1895 | A Pole, Jan Szymański, was born in Garbatka. A baker. In #Auschwitz from 6 June 1942. No. 37598 He perished in the camp on 4 August 1942.

12 June 1892 | German Jewish woman, Sophia Serphos, was born in Neuenhaus. She emigrated to the Netherlands. In March 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

12 June 1908 | A Jewish man, Solly Caplan, was born in Manchester (UK). He lived in Tromso in Norway and was a Norwegian citizen. In November 1942 he was deported to #Auschwitz. He did not survive.

12 June 1910 | A Polish Jew, Max Grabowski, was born. In #Auschwitz from 6 March 1942. No. 26523 He perished in the camp on 26 March 1942.

11 June 1918 | A Polish Jew, Markus Silberspitz, was born in Targowisko near Bochnia. In #Auschwitz from 19 May 1942. No. 35783 He perished in the camp on 20 July 1942.

11 June 1920 | A Pole, Kazimierz Szumlakowski, was born in Jarosław. A university student. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Tarnów on 14 June 1940 in the first transport of Poles to Auschwitz. No. 540 Executed by shooting on 11 November 1941.

11 June 1883 | A German Jew, Siegfried Kessler, was born in Iserlohn. He was deported to #Auschwitz in March 1943 from Munich and murdered in a gas chamber after selection.

11 June 1942 | Among 62 Poles deported by the Germans from Cracow was a bacteriologist prof. Marian Gieszczykiewicz (b. 21 May 1889). On 31 July he was carried out on a stretcher from the camp hospital to the courtyard of Block 11. Gerhard Palitzsch killed him with two headshots.
