30 April 1910 | Czech Jew, Josef Frank, was born in Prostějov. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt ghetto on 28 September 1944. He did not survive.

29 April 1935 | A Dutch Jew, Jacques Zeldenrust, was born in Rijswijk. He arrived at #Auschwitz on 5 March 1944 in a transport of 732 Jews deported from Westerbork. He was among 477 people murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

29 April 1913 | A Polish man, Ryszard Klimek, was born in Krakow. A university student. In #Auschwitz from 24 April 1942. No. 32520 Shot in the camp on 27 May 1942.

29 April 1889 | A Polish Jew, Salomon Schmelzer, was born in Krakow. In #Auschwitz from 28 August 1942. No. 62056 He perished in the camp on 25 September 1942.

29 April 1908 | An Austrian Jew, Felice Lenk, was born in Vienna. During the war he lived in Milan. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Fossoli di Carpi camp on 22 February 1944. He did not survive.

29 April 1945 | The US Army soldiers liberated #Dachau - the first concentration camp created in Nazi Germany which became a model camp for the entire SS concentration camps system. Over 205,000 people were imprisoned there between 1933-1945. Some 41,500 were murdered there.

29 April 1913 | A Polish man, Stanisław Szot, was born in Grabnowola. A bricklayer. In #Auschwitz from 30 June 1941 No. 17523 He perished in the camp on 31 October 1941.

29 April 1889 | A French Jew, Adrien Gougenheim, was born in Metz. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Drancy on 2 September 1943. Registered in the camp. He did not survive.

29 April 1934 | Dutch Jewish girl, Lea Davids, was born in Groningen. She was transferred from Westerbork to Theresienstadt ghetto on 6 September 1944. She was deported to #Auschwitz from there on 4 October 1944. She was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.
