According to a University of North Carolina Study: A survey of 422 incarcerated burglars revealed that the presence of a security sign alone was enough to deter 25% of them from targeting a home. Additional research conducted by Security(DOT)org and the University of North Carolina found that while security signs alone deter ~25% of burglars, the presence of a sign combined with a visible security system and cameras deters 53% of burglars.
