Our privet hedge seems to be dying. A lot of leaves have dropped off, and the rest look like this. A quick search suggests honey fungus, or privet wilt. I think it's doomed. This section is basically rooted in a low wall, there's no way we can dig it out.
Is it likely to kill off the big fuchsia which is growing at one end and the roses that ramble through?
If we left the dead hedge as a screen (and for birds to perch in) is there anything that would survive being trained through it?
