I recently overhauled my home network by ditching my big tech mesh networking gear in favor of a pfsense router/firewall and managed APs.
Not only does this increase my network security, it also massively improves privacy. Using pfBlockerNG, I can easily block known advertising, malware, and porn domains at the network level, meaning all of my devices are automatically protected.
Look at these stats for just a 24 hour period. This is for essentially just two users, my wife and I, and we’re typically busy taking care of our two kids 😅
