Mini-rant: Since when did running a lightning node become a rich person's activity? Exchange rates have 3-4Xed since I last set one up but the generally accepted minimum channel size is still 1M sats. That means roughly $5-10K CAD minimum in liquidity for a minimally functional node. I'm not trying to make money with this node, just use it for a proof-of-concept project. Yes, I could use testnet for technical testing, but if you want to demo to normies you need to be able to move real money around. As usually, the solution to my worldly problems is to stop being poor.

My theory is that these people know that cheap isn’t going to be good or fast but don’t want to acknowledge it. They know most of well-ordered society associates being outwardly cheap with being slimy, untrustworthy, and cheating, but don’t want to be seen that way, so they choose cheap then feign surprise at the results in hopes that their peers will assume they wanted to choose otherwise but couldn’t.

It’s been almost 7 years, how has she not figured this out yet?
