over the last weeks I got a lot of panicked calls of non technical users bc of an 'error' loading the (legacy) wallet at #bitcoin core. so I have to explain the descriptor bullshit and that there is no WIF/dumpprivkey anymore. the taproot wizards won. maybe there is a point of 'overcomplicated' for non technical users. you want mass adoption? make it usable for bitcoin dummies. my dentist dont know why are there different addresses from legacy to taproot and silent payments. he dont know why he can't import his (bip32) electrum mnemonic into an other (bip39) wallet. I told him years ago he can recover his funds at every wallet. fuck! most of non technical users are thinking their bitcoins are IN their wallet. imagine you write down your seed from wasabi and you dont know that you need the password too. but this is in your keepass because you think it protects your local copy. sorry for this rant. dont drink and write. bitcoin is great. peace out.
It's hard to follow all these technical discussions during a circumnavigation around the world at a sailing yacht. I mean, it's not like sipa ships bip32 and everyone "hd wallet good". @bitcoin
