Norway Sees 30% Surge in Crypto Tax Declarations
The Norwegian Tax Administration reported a 30% year-over-year increase in cryptocurrency declarations for 2024, with over 73,000 individuals reporting digital asset holdings totaling approximately $4 billion. Tax director Nina Schanke Funnemark noted the effectiveness of recent governmental measures in enhancing compliance.
Starting in 2026, crypto exchanges and custodians will be required to report information to authorities via third-party mechanisms. This aligns with global trends where governments are intensifying efforts to regulate and tax digital assets.
