Solana Co-founder Questions Ethereum L2 Security
Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, has raised concerns regarding the security and decentralization of Ethereum's Layer 2 (L2) scaling solutions. He argues that L2s have a large attack surface, complex codebases difficult to audit, and that user funds in multi-signature custody could potentially be moved without consent.
The debate also covers the proliferation of L2s, with some suggesting there are too many, while others see it as a sign of ecosystem growth. However, Binance Research notes that numerous L2s may cannibalize revenue from the Ethereum base layer due to fragmented liquidity and lower fees.
