Day 210: Toulon, France. Excursion to Aix-en-Provence to see the historic town, grab lunch, and follow the footsteps of painter Paul Cézanne who was born in Aix, grew up there, and returned later in life.
Day 206: Portofino, Italy. Ferry to a bus to a train to Cinque Terre region - beautiful costal towns for the rich and famous / tons of tourists, too. #UltimateWorldCruise
Day 205: Carrara, Italy. Hop on train to Pisa then to Florence. Met with wife’s cousins for lunch - crazy crowds at Academia so punted on the real David and saw replica instead - Italy in summer is a nightmare. #bitcoin #UltimateWorldCruise
Day 204: Civitavecchia, Italy - closest cruise ships can get to Rome (5 parked outside today). Bussed in - hit the mandatory fountains, steps, and piazzas - (Trevi off/being cleaned / Navona boarded up), Pantheon, Forum, and Colosseum - all packed with tourists and steamy hot as hell (no time for Vatican City or much else). #UltimateWorldCruise
Day 203: Naples, Italy. After the mandatory ‘shell’ merchant visit, we sweat our way through Pompeii before returning to the city for lunch and the scene. #UltimateWorldCruise
Day 202: Siracusa, Sicily, Italy. Archeological Park, Catacombs of St. Lucia, Madonna delle Lacrime, (Sanctuary of Mary’s tears), Temple of Apollo, then a delicious lunch. #UltimateWorldCruise
