Mistodon: for the recent MIST-30 artpack collection, while contemplating what else started in 1994, @Andy Garber: Ascii Art drew an animated Mistigris #ASCIIart version of the #throbber in #NetscapeNavigator, that would cycle in the top right corner while loading your requested URL.
Mistodon: @Pixelblip has drawn this #BBCMicro animation of a #mainframe computer suite (and its 9-track vacuum column magnetic tape drives!) from the flexible #IBMSystem360 family of machines, sold for a bit over a decade starting in 1965. This piece was included in the MIST1121 artpack collection.
Mistodon: I'd say that this #PLAYSCII piece by @piaille.fr@/yenenpeuplou, released a year ago in the MIST1121 artpack, was prophetic, but really when has resistance been bad advice in our lifetimes? Instead I'll say we post this to commemorate the recent death of #BASIC co-inventor #ThomasEKurtz. image
Mistodon: @Tekst_tv has drawn a #teletext adaptation of Charles O'Rear's Sonoma vineyard photograph 'Bliss', famously used as the default wallpaper for #WindowsXP & likely the most viewed photograph in human history. This screen was included in the MIST1121 artpack collection. image
Mistodon: this #ANSIart screen depicting the horned, winged succubus #Albedo from the #Overlord novel/manga/anime series was drawn by Zeus II as an advertisement for Shurato's Heavenly Sphere BBS. It was included in last month's spooky MIST1024 artpack collection. image
Mistodon: it seems that back in 2020 (!), when AdeptApril's #ANSIart calendar illustrations were being drawn, November the 6th fell on the first Friday in November -- on which occasion is celebrated #FountainPen Day. This year November's first Friday would have been on Nov 1st, but this is the screen we have to share so you just have to do a little time travelling with us ... but you can handwrite about it in elegant calligraphy in your time travel journal afterwards! image
Mistodon: this horrific #ANSIart image, like something off of a Garbage Pail Kids card, was the only submission @MAVENMOB had for last month's spooky MIST1024 artpack collection... but it's a humdinger! In chat people were asking why the only word the image was tagged with was "bisect" and I ask you what one word would better describe what you're seeing here? Worst of all, Velcro Boy is _smiling_ as he's torn apart. It's a mess, is what it is. image
Mistodon: just in time for #Halloween, here comes the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection full of seasonal computer art on dark themes. Browse it on 16colo.rs or download it for local enjoyment on your device. Its FILE_ID.DIZ illustration pictured here, "Silent Scream", recently won its creator @𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖙𝖑𝖊𝖇𝖎𝖙𝖘𝖕𝖆𝖈𝖊 first place in the IBM PC #ASCIIART compo at the recent Flashparty demoparty. image
