 The EU's unusual move of putting tariffs on countries that are ostensibly a part of the single market—Iceland and Norway—has very effectively killed off their own campaign to get us to join the EU Support for EU membership in Iceland rarely polls for more than just over 50%. Now a simple "EU treats small countries in the single market like garbage" means the upcoming referendum has no chance
The problem with relying on pithy observations like “history tends to repeats itself or rhymes” is that history is long and has many stanzas. It’s impossible to know in advance with any certainty whether tomorrow is going to rhyme with 2008, 1929, or the fall of the Roman Empire.

I know I’m not the best at answering emails, but I’ve been discovering lately that, without a shadow of doubt, I’m not remotely close to being the worst (Icelandic publishing types are not great at the timely answer thing.)
