I'm tired and yet unable to rest. This has driven me to those odd thoughts such as the nature of reality, fantasy, dreams, faith, and such. So now I will make it other's problems.
A thought that occurred to me in particular is how absolutely thorough society is in destroying any beliefs or dreams now. America used to have attempt to have culture, it had properly faithful people, hell the country was commonly considered a place to fulfill dreams. The Amercian dream is a phrase that just doesn't exist anymore outside of mockery. Society works to ostracize anyone who doesn't give up all faith and beliefs and replace them with a faith in "facts" and "experts." Dreams and fantasies are considered faux pas to even consider. It's all so strange.
Another thought is how much of a lovely intoxicating poison technology is. I truly do love computers and fancy intricate tech but the dosage is all wrong. The world has reached a point where rather than using a computer being an outlier for a kid's childhood, it's wrong to not give a child a computer or smart device of some kind to replace most imagination and play. It doesn't fully work as it is genuinely impossible to stop a kid from doing the unpredictable, yet there is some success. I could go on about how AI makes this worse, but that's an already frequent topic most have been down.
I don't really know where this is all going, just that it feels so odd to live in a world that despises dreams, fantasy, and faith. I guess all these things are mandatory to abandon when the focus of the world goes from reality to replicas of reality focused entirely on what experts say. Enough of this kind of depressing thought though, I'll post some more standard stuff later.
