I saw Ridley Scott's Napoleon and one could be forgiven if you thought it was written by the sneering court of George III.
They pretended like you could just end up conquering 85% of continental Europe, get crowned emperor, escape exile to recapture your throne by accident if you had some vague autistic coding.
And don't get me started on how they massacred the depiction of his relationship with Josephine.
You could see that the film had potential, but it was squandered because it wasn't brave enough to be honest.
That said β excellent cinematography, costume/set design save it somewhat.
