A Colville elder once described to me the beginning of #GreenColonialism in the #PNW as the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam in the early 1940s. The dam silenced Kettle Falls, a legacy fishery, and drowned villages and burial sites around it. It also halted salmon returns. He said first they took the salmon, and now they're coming for our roots with solar fields, and even taking the last thing we have---the wind. All in the name of renewable energy. #Indigenous
