Like so many so-called Christians who have embraced MAGA fascism, he sees faith not as something to be genuinely felt and lived out, but as an aesthetic flourish. Cynical opportunists like him love the self-righteousness that the "Christian" label affords them, but they abhor the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. They fetishize crusader armor, cruelty, and the might makes right ethos. While it's impossible to know what Vance believes in his heart of hearts, he's not conducting himself like someone who believes that he will one day be judged by a just God.
