Did we have more corn tonight? Yes, indeed! We're getting near the end now and some of these are like half sized (and counted as such) but still mighty tasty. 😀 🌽 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #BeetBear #SweetCorn @npub1v5ap...ny6w image
It was a cool, overcast morning and perfect conditions for BeetBear and I to clear out the cucumber patch. We managed three final cukes and everything else went to the compost pile, which, in a way, is another harvest, adding to the compost for next season. Next up: We've got to figure out where to store all those butternut squash! Now going to pick more raspberries. 😀 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #BeetBear #compost #Cucumbers @npub1v5ap...ny6w
My Okra is giving up.Many of the plants are drooping & there are not many pods on the other ones. The variety is Clemson spineless. They have full sun for most of the day & the soil is moist (too moist?). They are heavily mulched. We have had hot weather (June: High 101°F/Avg. 72° F; July: High 100°F/Avg. 77°F; Aug: High 93°F/Avg. 72°F) but the last 2 weeks has cooled off with low about 52°F/ Avg. 66°F. Any Okra growers out there with ideas? #gardening @npub1v5ap...ny6w #NewEngland #zone6b
Yes! Still more corn. The ears are admittedly a little smaller now, but still tasty nonetheless. I think there's a few more to be had yet... 😀 🌽 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #BeetBear #SweetCorn @npub1v5ap...ny6w image
The corn-fest continues. BeetBear celebrates today's picking! We're having a record good year. More coming. #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #BeetBear #SweetCorn @npub1v5ap...ny6w image
