We are so excited about the amazing progress with the Bamboo project in Putumayo with the Cofan, El Diviso indigenous community!!! February 2025: six members of the community attend a training with @ekawa_bamboolab in Medellin! May 2025: build bamboo curing & processing facility under the guidance of bamboo specialist and professor from University of Costa Rica, Maik August 2025: construction of bamboo workshop/ carpentry for the community… in preparation for the construction of their new community house! Everyone is so excited! Thank you @jaimepenastudio for your architectural design contribution! It is so amazing to see these beautiful structures come to life! Bamboo is an abundant resource in the area and grows much faster than trees! The indigenous of el Diviso are learning how to work with Bamboo and we are all so excited for the many opportunities and possibilities that are opening up for them as a source to build their own structures and as a possibility for economy!
