Pakige status: Where pakige? I am waiting for a 2:1 USB-A switcher box so I can toggle between my speakers and headphones without having to un/replug the cable every time I want to switch. This will be going in series with a similar switcher I already have for switching between my work laptop (hateful garbage) and home desktop (flawless glory). Part of the delivery will be a completely compliant male-male USB-A cable. #pakige
Has anyone migrated from Google photos to #immich? Any advice for someone contemplating the same? #selfhosting #foss #degoogle
Quick! I found a new feature of windows 11 to shout at! Right click on a window's task bar entry. The context menu doesn't pop up at your cursor. You know, where context menus normally pop up so you can select something from the menu with minimal cursor movement. Instead the menu appears above the _centre of that group of tabs_. Just insane. image
Oooh! #golang byte buffers are getting a Peek method in 1.26! Very handy. I think this might've been mentioned in an episode of @Cup O' Go , but I musn't've absorbed it fully.
Nice. During a domain transition at work I lost access to our internal wiki halfway through publishing some release notes. An eagle-eyed colleague found an error of mine in the draft release notes on the wiki, but I can't fix it. Good and fun! Computers rule.
Thing #83 I appreciate after switching from windows to linux on my desktop: When I tell my computer to shut down, it shuts down. I don't get a warning prompt informing me I have a file explorer window open. I cannot imagine a rational justification for that feature.
Ran out of egg halfway through making panko-crusted chicken breast for dinner last night. Switched to hommus loosened with a bit of olive oil. Worked perfectly, tasted great. #cooking
