We summarize here our intellectually preferred (= most probable) hypothesis for a “soft-handled takeover attempt” on Bitcoin, that could enforce systematic KYC & KYT at the Bitcoin chain layer… That’s why individual/family/community-led mining is more important by the day!

Last year, 2 very active French researchers in the Bitcoin ecosystem, Michel Khazzaka & Richard Détente, collaborated to publish an enlightening paper fed by 2 years of trying to find the most effective attack on the Bitcoin protocol: one that would at the same time preserve the network’s financial value & the attackers political/geopolitical legitimacy, being also compatible with the OFAC and centralized stablecoins’ mechanisms & fiat strengthening ambitions. They coined the “Détente Attack” concept: if a single entity gains control of 60% of the Bitcoin mining hashrate and performs a triple attack [compliance attack x selfish mining attack x hashrate mutualized in one pool], it would technically be able to censor more than 99% of the blocks – and to allow “politically compliant transactions” only.
Who’s the most probable candidate for such a “soft-handled takeover”?
The US Deep State and the Trump administration? BlackRock? The World Economic Forum?
