Fianlly some progress in ALS research, the disease that took Hal Finney's life. A new ALS clinical phase 2b study shows promising data: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(25)00262-4/fulltext It doesn't look like much but if this survival data holds up in a phase 3, this would be the first new treatment option for ALS patients that can meaningfully slow down their disease progression (look at figure 2 c,d).
