i think a future where bluesky is successful is most likely also a future where federation and decentralisation get turned into major tech buzzwords as well

cant have a system where people are like 'you should block often and asap for any reason whatsoever' when blocking also destroys interesting and relevant threads for the rest of the ppl

another aspect of why i think weird has such sticking power is that in the current ecosystem, trends have been fully played out once they get adopted by the large news outlets.
but its hard for them to really adopt to it, since it doesnt follow their playbook
