GOOGLE’S AI JUST DIAGNOSED YOUR RASH... BETTER THAN YOUR DOCTOR
Google’s new AI, AMIE, just crushed real doctors in a head-to-head diagnostic battle — and it did it with smartphone photos, blurry PDFs, and zero coffee breaks.
In a test with 25 actors playing sick patients, AMIE handled 105 made-up medical cases.
It reviewed everything from fake heart scans to test results.
The AI outperformed human doctors in both diagnosis and treatment planning.
Even when given grainy, low-res images — the kind your grandparents would take with a flip phone — AMIE stayed accurate.
It’s powered by Gemini 2.0 Flash, which researchers rewired to “think like a clinician.”
They trained it by having it role-play as the patient, doctor, and judge all at once.
So yes, it literally argued with itself until it got smarter.
Doctors might still have better bedside manners...but when it comes to spotting rashes and reading ECGs, the chatbot wins.
