Hi, my name is Gerardo Moran. I’m a 18 year old salvadorian who just came out from high school, where I had the chance to graduate from @MyfirstBitcoin_ #BitcoinDiploma. Now I’m a teacher myself👨‍🏫 Here’s my story🧵🔻 I was born in Concepción de Ataco⛰️, western #ElSalvador And I’ve been working since I was 11 years old, in areas like construction & tourism. So Proof-Of-Work has been present all my life⚙️🏋️‍♂️🛠️ Ever since, I’ve tried to reason why people in my country worked so much for so little money😔 Earning 6 dollars a day doing construction wasn’t feasible for me anymore❌, so I quit without knowing there was an opportunity ahead: #Bitcoin In 2021 I heard a ‘magic internet money’ would be declared legal tender in #ElSalvador Even though I didn’t knew anything about it, I got excited just to know a different type of money rather than the US Dollar would be circulating in my country. Of course, I started to see a lot of resistance against Bitcoin among my neighbors. People talked about volatility, scams & politics, but something said to me @nayibbukele decision about #Bitcoin was the right one for #ElSalvador So I did like @ODELL says: “stay humble & stack sats” 🙏 I said to myself “people are not afraid of #Bitcoin, they’re just scared of the unknown” That’s where I realized #education was everything El Salvador needed. One day, my school called the students to get into the #BitcoinDiploma I applied & excelled, thanks to our incredible teacher Napoleon Osorio, @elisuademo, who also gave me & @VianaMPB the opportunity to become teachers. We were selected among 60 students! We said YES! We now proudly educate people in the western region of #ElSalvador This job has brought me opportunities I never thought possible. It allows me to work, continue my studies & meet people while passing this knowledge to students not too younger than me That way, I’ve been able to socialize and visit places I never imagined. I've also had the chance to meet the amazing stories of My First Bitcoin team. Listening to their experiences & how they talk about #Bitcoin has expanded my knowledge about this topic. I’m also training & teaching the #BitcoinDiploma to a group of 8 senior professors at Antonio J. Alfaro school in Concepcion de Ataco, where I went to high school. I did #startsmall, but now I’m leading #Bitcoin education in my hometown! Being an inexperienced young person and having this opportunity is such a privilege I want to show people what #Bitcoin is (and what it’s not). For me it represents freedom as individuals and as a country 🇸🇻. #Bitcoin changed my life

Hi! I'm Quentin, a French🇫🇷 guy that left his country 18 months ago to travel Central America. Now I’m responsible for building a circular economy in La Pirraya, #ElSalvador, together with @My First Bitcoin & @BitcoinBeach How did I end up here? This my story After traveling around France for 4 months during the pandemic, I sold my car & left in February 2022, to go travel Mexico. There I rapidly met @SamSuarez08 , who's now my girlfriend 🫶 We've been traveling together ever since in Mexico, Guatemala & El Salvador. I decided to go visit SV after the #Bitcoin law was passed, to verify myself whether this was a top-down or bottom-up movement. It resulted in a life changing-experience for everyone involved. Let me tell you… When we arrived in San Salvador in August 2022, I immediately tried to join a #Bitcoin meetup. That's when we met the team of @My First Bitcoin:@jrivaszep, @daxsosa, @pilamaHT,@elisuademo, @criptoluis and more. When I realized there was an NGO based in #ElSalvador, providing #Bitcoin education, my immediate thought was: "That’s the grassroot movement I've been looking for" 🔍🙌 Fast forward to March 2023. After participating in two #BitcoinDiploma’s, and flying back and forth between SV & Mexico, I was now working on my #Bitcoin coaching business, when I received a call from @jdennehy_writes 📲 He asked me if I wanted to provide #Bitcoin education to the locals of a beautiful tropical island in #ElSalvador That tropical island is called La Pirraya. It’s a beautiful place that’s been inhabited for only 40 years! · I'm not gonna lie, at first I said something that sounded like "No, thank you!" I had already been there & I knew how small and isolated the island was, so I got scared. But I told him I would think about it, just in case…💭 After a day or two, I made a decision. If the only reason not to go live this experience was "I'm scared", it wasn't good enough. So I went. And @SamSuarez08 went with me! It’s now been 2 months since we moved to La Pirraya 🌴. We’re working hard to help this small community attract tourism & grow a circular economy, using #Bitcoin, sustainable practices, technology & education. In the last 2 months we have: 1. Restored & reopened the communal house 2. Installed a Starlink antenna there (providing Internet connection) 3. Taken out trash out of the island 4. Repaired the beach soccer stands 5.Visited & toured the island with Bitcoiners 👏💪🛠️ All of this has been an important challenge, but above all an amazing experience I’ll remember all my life. I'm proud to take part in this higher mission. I'm proud to be part of @miprimerbitcoin team.
OUR VISION: How to change the world in three simple steps My First Bitcoin is built around a core concept: that independent, impartial, community-led Bitcoin education will change the world. This isn't about Bitcoin, but rather what Bitcoin will teach us: critical thought, personal responsibility and ultimately self-sovereignty. It teaches us to lower our time preference and look further into the future—and that changes everything. When we have control over our lives and future, it encourages us to build and plan. Bitcoin allows us to define our destiny. Our highest-level strategy has three prongs: First; create an example in El Salvador that demonstrates and documents Bitcoin education as a tool for empowerment at mass scale [Mi Primer Bitcoin—El Salvador] As the first nation to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, El Salvador will be an example for the world—we get to decide what sort of example that will be. When used correctly Bitcoin is a tool that empowers individuals to make their own decisions and as educators introducing new people to the space it is extremely important that we never dictate to students but rather allow them to come to their own conclusions. In many ways this is the path of most-resistance, but it is also a cornerstone value. Cooption is our enemy, and we will have to constantly confront it. Fiercely resisting outside influence—from sponsors, governments or anyone else—will be difficult. It will mean that we will decline some opportunities, which is why the communities we serve will deeply value those that do understand and support the mission. Even while we grow, we must always strive for quality. In fact, quality is MORE important than quantity. This means we need to always iterate and improve upon our offerings as well as always strive to improve ourselves. We need to be self-critical. We also need to forge new ground, which is difficult but necessary. This first prong is the most important; it is what the next two are built upon. El Salvador is the example. Second; create a toolkit to make that example easy to copy by open-sourcing everything & creating easy, international communication channels [node network] El Salvador is the focus, but the mission is the world. This has never been done before. Bitcoin can be humanity’s first revolution. In every previous ‘revolution’ we have fought over who has power, we now have a chance to change our very relationship with power. As we grow, we will make a lot of mistakes and learn a lot of lessons. We operate on a Bitcoin standard in a fiat world. We must build new systems and trailblaze new paths. When we open-source everything—not just educational materials but things like accounting, media, communication and even how we make decisions internally—then it will be much easier for anyone, anywhere to copy or iterate upon our template. While we seek to create new systems and open-source everything, we are also building out a global decentralized communication layer—a network of nodes. Each node agrees to a basic core consensus about Bitcoin education—that it must be: independent; impartial; community-led, high-quality; Bitcoin-only; and teach empowerment. The communication needs to be multi-directional. El Salvador is the genesis block but all of the nodes in the global decentralized network must be able to easily and independently communicate with each other to share their own best practices and lessons learned. This will dramatically speed up the timeline and increase the quality. The network will have nodes in 21 nations by the end of this year. This is a serious attempt to replace the existing order and making the status quo irrelevant. There will be resistance. Diffusing the core ideas in a way that is efficient, decentralized and international will make it extremely resilient. Once something becomes unstoppable, it becomes inevitable. We are building an unstoppable machine. Third; create a common banner under which diverse interests can align--we don’t have to agree on other things, but independent, impartial, community-led bitcoin education is something for all to rally behind. A rising tide raises all boats. [advisory board] By focusing solely on independent, impartial, community-led education, and doing so with complete transparency, we can create a common ground that everyone can support. People come at Bitcoin from diverse perspectives, but, like Bitcoin itself, we want to encourage collaboration over competition. There are lots of other great projects doing wonderful things but because our geographic vision is so broad (the world) we need to maintain a narrow focus on what we do. If it’s not Bitcoin education, then we will leave the task to others. This common ground, that is difficult to oppose and easy to unite behind, manifests itself by creating an advisory board of all the diverse industry leaders and creating a common table. This will also lend legitimacy, which will allow the network to grow even faster. This will incentivize industry leaders to be involved and create a positive feedback loop. This common ground will manifest itself in the physical world at an annual charity Gala in El Salvador, which won’t just serve as a fundraiser but also to entrench that vision and give it physical space.
"The Brain Thinks, but the Heart Knows" ❤️ I'm Reyna Chicas How following my heart has taken me from El Salvador to Guatemala teaching the #BitcoinDiploma As the Secretary of the Board of Directors for @My First Bitcoin , I believe we are going to change the world. Starting off 2022, I set a goal to find a purpose that aligns with making an impact & living a fulfilling life. I craved something more meaningful & for the greater good. There had to be more to life than inertia. I discovered @My First Bitcoin in April 2022 but attended a meetup in August. Initially, I thought it was just a gathering of nerds to talk about nerd money. Little did I know, they were passionate about using #Bitcoin education to change the world. I spoke with Napo @Napoleon Osorio at the meetup. He was kind & welcoming. I liked his patience & that he didn’t “pushed me” to get into #Bitcoin but to understand that is a tool to empower people’s life and our interaction made me realize the potential of this community. Fast forward to March 2023, the team running @LakeBitcoin asked for help teaching the #BitcoinDiploma in Panajachel, Guatemala🇬🇹 My heart leapt at the opportunity! Teaching in a predominantly Mayan community came w/ its challenges but bigger satisfactions. People were reluctant to learn and now are realizing the potential of #Bitcoin and what financial education can bring to their lives. Thanks Eliazar @JUN_AJPU_btc🙏🏼 for the support! Every day, our mission and work lead to something priceless. The growth I've experienced, teaching people from diverse backgrounds & children, is fulfilling. But in the end, it's not about me, it’s about the mission of creating a better future- empowering others with new knowledge and hope. We are now teaching everyone at @LakeBitcoin, from the young, to the middle age, to the old. At @My First Bitcoin we don't settle for normalcy; we strive for extraordinary. Our whole team is about embracing possibilities and unlocking our true potential. Remember, the brain thinks, but the heart knows.🧠💗 Like I did, you can follow your heart & help us spread #Bitcoin adoption Even if we #startsmall, if we work together, we can make a difference

Hey, I’m Roberto! In 2022, we taught more than 10K students Bitcoin Intro. classes, & +500 students graduated with @myfirstbitcoin_ ’s #BitcoinDiploma @BitcoinpodES . Here’s why I left my FIAT job & my life in Mexico🇲🇽 back in March 2022 to do my life’s work in #ElSalvador. 1. Unlocking agency.🔓 I discovered agency over my life through #Bitcoin. It taught me more than money - analyzing behavior, making plans, and taking action. Now, I embrace consistency in action as the key to success. Join my journey and unlock your path to self-empowerment. 2. Unleashing the 8th wonder. In 2017, I delved into investments and questioned the basics. Inflation, store of value, and the govt’s. manipulation of 'inflation' 📈hit me hard. Then, I heard about #Bitcoin, but misunderstood its potential. It was time to rewrite my future.✍️ 3. Awakening to the game.🌟 COVID revealed global issues with capital markets. 📉 When the Fed printed massive amounts of money, new questions emerged. Many knew the problems, but not many correctly identified the solution. I knew it was time to rewrite the rhymes of history. 4. Educational turning points.↪️ A podcast, a new voice & a life-changing book. 1- Letter to Ray Dalio-Podcast @Breedlove22 2- Saylor series-Podcast @saylor 3- Bitcoin Standard-Book @saifedean Grateful to the above + @LynAldenContact @PrestonPysh @JeffBooth for helping me. 👊 5. Unveiling the truth.🔍 Money printing distorts society and benefits the few at the cost of the many.😥 The result is an exp. loss of purchasing power and decreased quality of life for most people+wages never kept up. It's time to challenge the system, and seek true freedom. 6. Unveiling the distortion. Inflation erodes independence, violates our property rights and burdens families. It's time to believe in ourselves, take action & embrace tools like #Bitcoin. Let's challenge the unfair game, protect property rights & build a better world. 🗺️ 7. From sacrifices to uncertainty.❓ I embarked on a journey towards building a legacy. Resigned my FIAT💸 job, leaving comfort behind. Family & friends questioned my decision. But I knew it was time to chase fulfillment, embrace uncertainty & forge my own path. 8. Retirement revelations & a new geneneration on the horizon. As I questioned the system, my father's retirement sparked deep reflection.👨🏼‍🦳 Why work exponentially harder for exponentially weaker money? I chose a different path, creating a legacy for my son (Block 695,433). 👶🏼 9. Unforgettable moments at the @FDIdeas, Mexico. @RicardoBSalinas My journey took an exciting turn. I attended a festival to hear @saifedean @gladstein Also, I've got the opp. to talk to @IndiraKempis Little did I know, it would lead to incredible opp. in México-Stay tuned! 10. Leaving my engineering career behind. I embarked on a quest for a meaningful role in the #Bitcoin world. With limited options in Mexico, I explored unconventional paths. No more distractions or buzzwords. I sought true Financial Independence and a purpose-driven journey. 11. From a social media skeptic to finding my purpose. Opening a Twitter account led me to @MiPrimerBitcoin Their mission resonated with me, and I pursued the opportunity to teach financial education.🏫 Persistence paid off.🏆 I flew to #ElSalvador to join their team. 12. A life-changing commitment. A trip to 🇸🇻 introduced me to @MyfirstBitcoin_ & their impactful work. Volunteering remotely turned into an opportunity to work on-site. I embraced the opp., living at the MPB house, fueled by a passion to empower others. 13. Joining @MyfirstBitcoin_ was a journey of challenges and triumphs. We faced threats, but our mission prevailed. We shattered edu. records, empowering over 10K students & grad. 500+ from the #BitcoinDiploma. Together, we're rewriting the future with #Bitcoin education. 14. Record-breaking success led to a new focus on growth With key positions to fill, we looked for help from @MarceMR19 & @adam_nili After careful deliberation, Adam emerged as the perfect leader. Our organization is now stronger, more structured & poised for Intl. expansion. 15. From uncertainty to collaboration and expansion.🚀🦸 Excited to announce our partnership with @IndiraKempis to start the #BitcoinDiploma in Nuevo León, México & much more. We've had a huge impact, so quickly. I'm grateful for our dedicated team and supporters worldwide. 🌐

Hi, I’m Dalia Platt, the head of curriculum for @My First Bitcoin I’ve been working on the next version of the #BitcoinDiploma🎓📜 which is being translated into 5 languages & is being taught in over 10 countries🗺️ Here’s how we got here, and where we’re going next. Growing up in #Colombia🇨🇴, I witnessed stark contrasts between privilege and poverty. My family's emphasis on #education🏫 and traveling made me deeply aware of the inequality surrounding us. During university, a humble woman's generosity exposed me to the true face of poverty🙏 In her makeshift home atop a dirt mound, she served me her only piece of chicken in a powerful act of selflessness. It marked me deeply. Atop that mound, I realized the need for financial inclusion, especially for the unbanked population like her 🏦🚫 Every day, she climbed that mound for the money she needed to survive. I wished for an easier way. Discovering #Bitcoin sparked an idea. Could this be the solution? Yet, understanding this revolutionary technology felt like climbing an even steeper hill. As a math enthusiast and educator, I grappled with Bitcoin's intricacies. My struggle to comprehend #Bitcoin fueled my desire to make the journey easier for others. My grandparents’ story further strengthened my resolve. They fled Europe with hope, arriving penniless in #Colombia🇨🇴, leaving behind their hard-earned assets. If #Bitcoin existed then, they wouldn't have had to abandon everything😔 Their ability to start anew ignited my belief inBitcoin's potential as a borderless🗺️ store of value. Fueled by these experiences, I seized the opportunity to create the curriculum for @myfirstbitcoin_ Learning about #Bitcoin should be enjoyable, interactive, and accessible to everyone🎮 We designed the curriculum to be flexible and #OpenSource, constantly evolving with valuable feedback from the community. Collective intelligence and creativity were our guiding principles 💡✅ hrough #Bitcoin, my hope is to bridge the gap between the financially privileged and the underprivileged. I envision a world where everyone, regardless of their background, has access to financial services and opportunities 🚀📈 This journey is a tribute to resilience, a commitment to equality, and an open invitation for everyone to join us. Let's work together to make poverty and inequality a thing of the past🌟 With #Bitcoin as our tool, we can create a future where we get individuals and communities around the world to #startsmall on their journey to empowerment and liberty💪🕊️ Working together with teams like @LookingGlassEdu , @AmityAge , @BitcoinEkasi , @LakeBitcoin , @BitcoinJungleCR , @FREEMadeiraOrg , @BitcoinBeachBR , @Bitcoinbeach , @RecklessNode , @FreeMarketKids and many more, give me hope this future is possible. t's time to rewrite the narrative and build a world where opportunity knows no boundaries. Join us as we pave the way towards a more inclusive and equal future. Let's make a difference together. If you want to join the movement, reach out!
