This morning I tendered my formal resignation with Alberta Health Services. Despite being laid off before Christmas, I was still considered an employee on recall. AHS proceeded to hire for my position without first notifying me in contravention of the AUPE Collective Agreement. My union rep agreed with me. When I called them out on this they called it defamation. I'm done playing their game. The fight isn't worth it. I know what I'm worth. AHS doesn't and I'm done being jerked around.

AHS is big mad about me calling them out on their poor hiring practices, leaving laid-off staff on recall high and dry. They're big mad because I called them out for hiring in bad faith and not offering me or others in my situation this position first, which they were required to do under the AUPE collective agreement.
