I turned off Copilot for all my Microsoft products… then tried to save a simple PDF… got a notification that the file can’t be saved unless I change my ‘microsoft privacy settings’. What is that setting? 🤔 The same one that you have to turn off to disable Copilot. Vile. Absolutely vile.

OK, this is intriguing. I'm going through the syllabus for my next class for the Summer term, and the final essay assignment is to have AI create an entire essay based on my essay ideas. Then I'm supposed to analyze it, mark it up, and then revise and write my own version of it. Weird? At first, I really hated it... I still mostly hate it... But I guess it’s kind of a creative way to show young people that AI shouldn't be used for original work and to make them think critically about what it does wrong. On the other hand, isn't this just teaching them how to use AI to generate essays and how to edit them enough to make them their own for an assignment? Again, weird choice for a major assignment. I also have to do a group writing project, and I’m not happy about it. Overall, I'm meh about taking this class, I really hope it surprises me. I could honestly just use a break for 2 months right now. Next spring/summer, I may just take some time off.
