BREAKING: 82% of Those Killed in Gaza Since March Are Civilians, Israeli Military Admits The Israeli military has officially acknowledged to Israeli outlet HaMakom HaKhi Ham that over 80% of those killed in Gaza since March 18 were civilians uninvolved in combat—confirming what Palestinians have long said. The explosive admission comes two months after Israel unilaterally broke the ceasefire to resume its assault. ➤ According to figures provided by the military, of the 2,780 Palestinians killed since March 18, only about 500 were identified as militants. The remaining 2,280 were civilians not suspected of any militant activity. ➤ That’s a ratio of 4.5 civilians killed for every alleged fighter—far worse than in other recent wars: ▪️ Russia-Ukraine war: ~2.8 civilians per combatant ▪️ U.S. war on ISIS in Syria: ~2.5 civilians per combatant ▪️ Israel’s 2014 Gaza war: ~3 civilians per combatant ➤ Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor puts the toll even higher: 14 civilians, including women and children, killed for every combatant. ➤ Israeli military response: Despite acknowledging the numbers, IDF officials admit they don’t track total casualties and release combatant figures “without a way to verify them.” Yet, HaMakom HaKhi Ham notes, they have continued to cast doubt on Gaza Health Ministry data, even while relying on it internally.
🚨NEWS: The House is set to vote Monday on H.R. 867, the “IGO Anti-Boycott Act,” which would punish Americans with fines of up to $1 million or prison terms up to 20 years for participating in boycotts of Israel or Israeli settlements that are promoted by international governmental organizations (IGOs), such as the UN or EU. The bill, sponsored by pro-Israel lawmaker Rep. Mike Lawler, expands U.S. anti-boycott law to target voluntary, values-based political action by U.S. citizens. Its aim is to shield Israel from nonviolent international pressure campaigns such as BDS. Rights groups say the legislation criminalizes constitutionally protected political expression and is part of a broader push to suppress opposition to Israeli genocide, apartheid, and illegal settlement expansion, under the guise of fighting antisemitism.
"I want the world to know that some teens in Gaza skip out on their fifth [period] at school so they can see the girls they love and hand them naively written love letters.” This is one of many personal reflections featured in We Are Not Numbers: The Voices of Gaza’s Youth, a book released in April 2025 that gathers 74 standout pieces from young Palestinian writers in Gaza. We Are Not Numbers began in 2015 as a writing initiative founded by @npub1mrqr...c8la and Pam Bailey. Its mission is to help Palestinian youth share their stories in English, moving beyond statistics to convey the human experience of life under siege. Over the past decade, the project has mentored hundreds of writers and produced more than 1,500 essays and poems.
NEW: The World Food Programme says it is completely out of food in Gaza. No more parcels to distribute. No more supplies left. @Ryan Grim breaks down this staggering development—and what it means for 2 million Palestinians still under blockade.
NEW: Norway officially established diplomatic relations with the State of Palestine today, following its recognition of Palestinian statehood on May 28, 2024. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre called the move an investment in the “only solution” for lasting peace—a two-state arrangement with Israel and Palestine living side by side. “There will be no peace in the Middle East without a two-state solution. There can be no two-state solution without a Palestinian state,” he said. Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide described the decision as “a milestone in the relationship between Norway and Palestine,” reaffirming Norway’s support for the Palestinian Authority and the broader peace process. This comes despite Israel’s retaliation, including revoking diplomatic accreditation for Norwegian diplomats and closing Norway’s Palestinian office in Al-Ram. Norway joins Ireland and Spain in recognizing Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem as the capital of both states.
Israeli attacks across Gaza killed at least 61 Palestinians in the last 24 hours, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense and medical sources. NEW at @Drop Site “The level of dehumanization of Palestinians and Arabs in our workplace has become too much to bear,” a former Cisco employee told Drop Site. On March 25, Cisco’s Chief People, Policy & Purpose Officer Francine Katsoudas announced new internal “guardrails” restricting employee discussion of the Middle East—specifically Palestine—in company-wide forums. (Video obtained by Drop Site is attached). Just hours after the announcement, a pro-Palestine employee was fired. She told Drop Site the reason given was that her comments “contribute to a harmful work environment,” and said: “The reason given for my firing is pure hypocrisy. They fired me for resisting the use of my tech labor to harm Palestinians and other marginalized communities.” The crackdown continued over the next week: Cisco deleted its largest pro-Palestine WebEx chat group—Bridge to Humanity (B2H)—and took down its related educational site. Days later, additional employees involved in internal Palestine solidarity efforts were either fired or forced out. Internal surveys obtained by Drop Site showed that at least 32 Cisco employees had lost a total of 288 relatives in Gaza since October 2023. Drop Site’s investigation details the company’s speech crackdown, employee retaliation, and ties to Israel’s military operations. Read the full story by @Archit at the link shared below.
WATCH: Palestinian analyst Muhammad Shehada spoke to DW News about Israel’s current ceasefire proposal, noting that it isn’t a real ceasefire, but a six-week pause with no commitment to withdraw troops or end the war. He explains: ➤ Demands for Hamas to disarm are a “red herring,” since Hamas no longer poses a serious threat to Israel—its tunnels are gone, rockets depleted, and no Rafah-Egypt tunnels have been found. ➤ But Hamas still has enough light weapons to resist an occupation inside Gaza, making long-term Israeli presence difficult. ➤ Netanyahu has openly said that even if Hamas surrendered, disarmed, returned hostages, and its leaders left Gaza, Israel would still occupy the territory—and “depopulate” it, implementing Trump’s plan. Shehada added that Hamas has previously offered to disarm, but only under broader agreements: ▪️ As part of a peace deal that includes ending the occupation and creating a Palestinian state. ▪️ Or a long-term truce—5 to 10 years—across all territories, as envisioned by Trump’s Hostages Envoy Adam Boehler. Both proposals, he notes, were rejected by Israel.
NEWS: Senator Cory Booker was among 83 U.S. Senators who voted today to send more American bombs and missiles to the Israeli military as it carries out its intensifying genocidal assault on the indigenous Palestinian population. The U.S. Senate held votes on two resolutions introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders to block $8.8 billion in arms sales to Israel, including bombs, bomb components, missiles, and guidance kits. Both resolutions were overwhelmingly defeated, with votes of 15-82 and 15-83, respectively. In November 2024, Sanders’s similar resolutions gained support from 19 Democrats, but four senators who had voted in favor at that time changed their stance on Thursday, voting “No.”They were Georgia Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen (who announced she will not seek reelection next year), and Maine Senator Angus King, an Independent who caucuses with Democrats. The 15 Senators who voted to block additional weapons for genocide, were: New Jersey Senator Andy Kim, Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono, New Mexico Senator Ben Ray Luján, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen, Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley, Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich, Hawaii Senator Brian Schatz, Minnesota Senator Tina Smith, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, Vermont Senator Peter Welch, and Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy. Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin voted “present” for both motions. image
🚨 U.N. World Food Program said today it only has 2 weeks of food supplies left to support its operations, including charity kitchens. The agency has already reduced food rations to reach as many people as possible. The U.N. food agency said 19 bakeries remain operational, and many shut down after running out of cooking gas. But flour supplies at these bakeries can only support bread production for 800,000 people for 5 more days.
