TIL the red traffic light button *kills* apps in iPadOS 26?? 🤨 At this point, it's pretty ingrained in people's minds that the red button doesn't actually kill apps on macOS (it only closes the window). It has worked like that for the past 24 years. Why in the world would Apple add macOS's emblematic traffic lights to iPadOS only to assign the most crucial of them a totally different function?

I've been getting some questions from admins regarding @Tangerine UI for Mastodon and its compatibility with Mastodon 4.4 releasing next week: Unfortunately, I've been overwhelmed lately, so I was not able to release the new version of Tangerine UI ahead of the upcoming Mastodon release like I usually do. However, *yes*, I am working to adapt Tangerine UI to Mastodon 4.4. It just may not be ready on day one. In the meantime, nothing will dramatically break if you update to 4.4 and don't wait for Tangerine UI. Just note that users of the theme may encounter broken UI elements here and there (especially on small screens where there have been some significant UI changes in 4.4). I recommend you enable notifications on the @Tangerine UI for Mastodon account, where I will inform everyone as soon as Tangerine UI is ready sometime next week!
