Cordoned-off blocks and house to house searches are NOT peacetime events folks. This is something that happens in war when troops occupy an area considered hostile. For St Paul residents these are obviously ENEMY troops.
TO ALL READERS: If this happens on your block, as many people as possible need to barricade and refuse to let them in. You cannot get a judicial warrant for house to house raids, which means SWAT should not be available to attempt to breach your defenses. It is LEGAL to barricade your home against unlawful home invasion! Call for backup and wait them out. It is vey unlikely that they will riddle defended houses with blind gunfire. The escalation that would bring is more than they can handle.
Unfortunately, this is probably being done by Trump in an attempt to deliberately start a civil war in which the Insurrection Act is formally invoked and troops and guerillas slug it out in the streets. This is his only real chance to avoid the metaphorical type of bloodbath in the elections this November. That however does not make not fighting back a valid option. It only takes one side to start a war and if the other side doesn't fight the attacker wins the war without having to fight at all.
Ford Fischer got this video of an entire block beseiged by ICE and cut off while residents try to hold the line.
