People don’t just want financial literacy, they need a sustainable living wage. People don’t just want subsidized housing and food stamps, they need housing and food as human rights. People don’t just want lower health care costs, they need their tax dollars to guarantee healthcare access. People don’t need lectures on how to navigate an exploitative system, they demand an affordable system that caters to them, not to billionaires. Period.
Trump issued an Executive Order to "remove divisive anti-American content" from museums, & now US Holocaust Museum is "temporarily" removing an exhibit on how the US Government rejected Jewish refugees from escaping Nazi genocide. (Oh, and remember, the Govt gladly gave visas to actual literal Nazis). A reminder that Red states have a 40% higher murder rate than do Blue states, so if Trump *actually* wanted to pretend he was protecting Americans he’d have the National Guard occupy Red states not Blue states. And if you claim “Red states are only more violent because of Blue cities,” then you’ll have to explain why Blue cities in Blue states don’t make them even more violent. A Florida court detained a US Citizen of Latino ethnicity for being an "illegal immigrant." He showed the court proof of citizenship. The court agreed he's a Citizen—but held him in jail anyway. Emmett Till would've turned 84 today. He was only 14 when white supremacist terrorists horrifically murdered him. The white woman Carolyn Bryant Donham who accused him of harassing her later confessed she lied. The warrant for her arrest was never enforced. She died only 2 years ago in 2023 at the age of 88. White supremacy terrorism isn't ancient history. It's not even history. It's contemporary reality.
The horrific shooting at a MN Catholic school is another reminder that since 1999, American has seen 2,000+ (yes, thousand) shootings in houses of worship.
