How come we never hear media report that in the year prior to 10/7—Hamas killed 250 Israeli civilians, kidnapped 800 Israeli kids, took 8000 Israelis hostage, & built more than 12,000 homes on Israeli land? You know why? Because Hamas did none of those things. In reality, in the year prior to 10/7, the Israeli Govt killed 250 Palestinian civilians, kidnapped 800 Palestinian kids, took 8000 Palestinians hostage, & built 12,000+ homes on Palestinian land. But go on—pretend this all began 10/7.

On #WomensEqualityDay a reminder that the 19th Amendment only gave white women voting rights. BIPOC women waited decades more: •1920: White Women •1952: Asian Women •1962: Native Women •1965: Black Women •1975: Latino Women We must continue to protect voting rights—even now.

In Afghanistan, the Taliban's Minister of Education has announced that girls' schools are likely to remain closed permanently. As a Muslim let me be explicitly clear. This is apartheid, vile, & inexcusable. Prophet Muhammad(sa) declared, "It is incumbent upon every Muslim male & every Muslim female to attain education." His wife Ayesha was a leading scholar & jurist. His final words were "women are your committed partners." Not servants—PARTNERS. Taliban terrorists are a stain on humanity.

A right wing Republican man who voted with Trump more than 90% of the time, voted to undermine voting rights, block gun safety legislation, and is anti-choice, got to speak at the DNC, but Palestinian Americans simply asking to be seen as human were denied a platform. How unfortunate.

I’m live at the peaceful protest outside the DNC. The DNC is denying Palestinian Americans a voice at the convention. As AOC just tweeted, “Just as we must honor the humanity of hostages, so too must we center the humanity of the 40,000 Palestinians killed under Israeli bombardment. To deny that story is to participate in the dehumanization of Palestinians. The @npub1zts3...tw67 must change course and affirm our shared humanity.”

UPDATE: Hamas has announced it rejects this deal because: •It does not mandate permanent ceasefire and release of all hostages •It keeps Israel occupying Gaza •It keeps Israel controlling the Rafah border Israeli officials tell Axios Netanyahu only said he accepted the proposal because he knew Hamas would reject it. Reminder that 2 months ago Hamas accepted Israel’s proposal & then Israel went back on its own proposal. Absurd Political theatre as genocide rages on. This is utterly horrifying.

Just now Netanyahu killed 7 members of the same Palestinian family, days after killing 4 day old twins, and a week after killing 100 in a school. Remember, Biden doesn't need to "push" for a ceasefire deal. He can just stop arming Netanyahu and firing will cease. Americans, Palestinians, & Israelis all want it. Stop arming Netanyahu. Period.
