SB1257 has passed both the Texas House and Senate and will go to Governor Abbot for signature. This bill requires insurance companies issuing policies in Texas that cover gender transition procedures to also cover treatment for any complications or negative effects, including from detransition. Thank you @Jeff Leach for your leadership in getting this bill through the house! Texas is leading the way in making sure patients are not left to fend for themselves when gender medicine causes complications.

Yesterday, West Virginia joined 22 other states that fully protect children from all three components of pediatric medical transition: puberty blockers, hormones and surgery. Governor Patrick Morrisey signed SB 299 into law ending a loophole that allowed doctors to prescribe puberty blockers and hormones based on a finding of "severe gender dysphoria," which was impossible to diagnose. After hearing their testimony, one Senator stated "If we had heard from two years ago, I don't think we would have voted for the exception." Thank you Jamie and Simon!
