Nada on the razor clamming, just added more salt to the North Sea... not too surprised, it isn't like we have a clue what we are doing 😂 But at least I do know where a good juicy samphire spot is... image
Ah... the English coast. image

Well, it has been a bit of a day... due to solar shenanigans yesterday there was extra to squeeze into it. Cleaning, passata making, packing (couldn't quite fit the kitchen sink), allotment watering and harvesting... but in the end we got to where we were going... a hut in the woods (well, sort of... close enough... and I appreciate the hotel bar with WiFi is a hop, skip, and a jump away. No signal on any of Three, EE, or O2 here lol.) No attempt at fishing today. We shall see what tomorrow's weather brings us. Meanwhile sat in a comfy armchair drinking an acceptable pint of something from Woodforde's. Kat sayz: oh hai... image
The question: Can you fit 28 ~800x1570 domestic solar panels in a 2004 Volvo V70? The answer: NO! But... what if we add "on" as well as "in" hey? 😄 I'm going to have to clean them up and test them in the sun. But even if "not all that" probably can't complain for £102.08... image
Passata need not apply. We may currently be cooking up big pots of passata, but whilst we have these beaut tomatoes on tap we will enjoy them from fresh whenever we can. I actually prefer a tomato pasta sauce made with fresh tomatoes. We blanch and peel them, roughly chop, removing most of the seedy parts (the varieties we grow mainly don't have much in the seedy part department) and they quickly break down to a fresh sauce in a frypan. In this case started out with some dry cured bacon and our own shallots, chillies, and garlic. Finished with some of our own parsley and home-made nasturtium seed "capers". Topped with a collection of our own cherry tomatoes. Simple. All veg from the #allotment — just add pasta, bacon, olive oil, pepper, and salt.
